About the role
You will work with the Team Leaders and teams of dedicated Social Workers, Mental Health and Disability Navigators, Peer Specialists and our Outreach team to serve families in the Auckland region. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Professional to join our mental health services team in Mount Albert. As a full-time role, you will play a crucial part in supporting individuals and families in our community who are navigating mental health challenges. You may be a registered or registerable Social Worker, fully registered under the Health Practitioner Competence Assurance Act i.e. Occupational Therapist, Nurse, psychotherapist, or fully registered alcohol and drug and or gambling practitioner member of the Addiction Practitioners' Association Aoteroa - New Zealand.
What we're looking for
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of a Pacific culture with the ability to translate this across the wider Pacific community
- A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling or a related field
- Professional certification and registration in accordance with registration board requirements
- Demonstrated experience in a clinical mental health setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and empathise with clients
- Familiarity with mental health legislation, policies and evidence-based practices
- A commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting the rights and wellbeing of clients
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English
- Eligible to work in New Zealand
- A clean, full NZ Driver License
- A clean police record
