Social Worker
Make a real impact—support Pacific families in Auckland with Vaka Tautua, fostering independence and wellbeing through collaborative, culturally informed care.
About the role
You will work with the Team Leaders and teams of dedicated Social Workers, Mental Health and Disability Navigators, Peer Specialists and our Outreach team to serve families in the Auckland region. You will be part of an established multi-disciplinary team providing comprehensive support to our service users and their families through strengths-based and culturally appropriate approaches. The role is aimed at strengthening independent living for those who access our services. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm.
This role is in line with the Social Workers Pay Equity.
About you
Along with a passion for supporting and helping Pacific Peoples you will have:
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of a Pacific culture with the ability to translate this across the wider Pacific community
- A tertiary qualification in social work.
- Professional certification and registration in accordance with registration board requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of social services and social work issues.
- A clean, full NZ Driver License.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English
- Fluency in a Pacific Island language and/or a deep knowledge and understanding of a Pacific Island culture is preferred but not necessary
- Eligible to work in New Zealand.
- A clean police record.
