About the role
Vaka Tautua is seeking a compassionate, culturally grounded, and community‑minded Whānau Ora Navigator to join our Whānau Ora Services team in Region 4. This role is all about walking alongside Pacific whānau, supporting them to realise their aspirations, strengthen their wellbeing, and build pathways toward a thriving future.

About you
Along with a passion for supporting and helping Pacific Peoples you will have:
A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., social work, counselling, psychology, community development, public health, Māori or Pacific studies).
2+ years’ experience working with individuals or whānau with high and complex needs.
Experience working with Pacific families or communities.
Strong understanding of Pacific cultures, languages, values, and worldviews.
Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equitable outcomes.
Excellent communication skills — clear, compassionate, and plain‑language focused.
Ability to build trusted relationships with whānau and system stakeholders.
Confident with technology, reporting systems, and online engagement tools.
Skilled in risk assessment, crisis response, and safety planning.
Resilient, reflective, and able to thrive in fast‑paced, changing environments.
